Hesken Cottage is set above one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in the country, with views to the Scillies and some of the best sunsets you will ever see. 

The cottage is right in the middle of Poldark country with fabulous untouched beaches within walking distance; and when the weather isn’t quite so beachy, incredible spots to wrap up and watch the Atlantic waves pound the cliffs.

Hesken sleeps 8 in four bedrooms. Upstairs It has two bedrooms with king sized beds and a kids’ bunk room along with the family bathroom and an additional loo. Downstairs is a smaller bedroom with double bed. The living area is extremely comfortable and has a cosy log burner and 65 inch smart tv and the dining area in the sun room makes the most of the spectacular views. The cottage also has fast wifi.

Hesken has a large enclosed garden and adjoining paddock which both have incredible panoramic sea views, making it ideal for both dogs and children. Leaving the house, you are a couple of minutes’ walk away from the South West Coast Path, which in one direction takes you along the cliffs and past many of the iconic mines that the area is known for (Botallack, Levant to name two), and in the other to Pendeen Watch lighthouse and a couple of stunning, sheltered and seldom-visited beaches (Boat Cove and Portheras, both of which are dog-friendly year-round – not necessarily a given in this part of the world.)

It’s very easy to spend a week at Hesken and not even get in the car. Aside from the walks and beaches, Pendeen has a great local pub, the North Inn, and well stocked shop, both 10 minutes walk away.

Within 20 minutes by car, you can be at Sennen Cove for exceptional surfing, or if you are feeling adventurous and feeling flush, take a day trip to the Scilly Isles from Lands End Airport. The area is also a great spot for foodies: the Gurnard’s Head, Argoe and the Tolcarne Inn are all close by, and of course you can buy the fish fresh off the boat from Stevensons in Newlyn.
